Count Mario Bevilacqua was a prominent member of the Accademia dei Filarmonici in Verona, where he patronized the arts and especially music (Luca Marenzio dedicated to Bevilacqua his Madrigali a quattro, cinque et sei voci (Verona: 1588). He was responsible for a most renown 'ridotto musicale' within the academy.
